CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS
LeadingAge Ohio is an approved provider of continuing education credit through BELTSS. Any continuing education program that has been approved by BELTSS is accepted by the Ohio Board of Nursing for all nurses in the State of Ohio.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Any individual who works for a LeadingAge Ohio member organization is eligible to apply to the Leadership Academy, irrespective of clinical or managerial experience. It is more important for an applicant to demonstrate deep leadership potential within their organization than it is for him or her to carry specific job titles.
Fellows are expected to complete all required projects, assignments and readings as well as participate in all related meetings, site visits, sessions and conference calls.
If at any time a Fellow’s employment status changes, he/she is no longer employed by the supporting organization or they fail to meet any of the program’s eligibility criteria, continued participation in the Leadership Academy is subject to review by LeadingAge Ohio.
If an applicant is applying from a multi-site organization, before applying, the applicant should check his/her organization’s policies regarding how candidates are selected to apply for the program.
TUITION, HOTEL AND TRAVEL EXPENSES/SPONSORSHIP
Each Fellow's employer is responsible for a $2,695 non-refundable tuition payment, hotel and travel expenses and some meals associated with each of the face-to-face meetings. The tuition fee includes the cost of all required books, materials, evaluations, assessments, refreshments, some meals, continuing education units, certificates and upcoming Annual Conference and Trade Show registration.
Each Fellow is required to identify a sponsor within their organization who verifies an understanding of the time commitment and goals of the program.
APPLICATION EVALUATION CRITERIA
All applications will be reviewed to ultimately assemble as diverse of a class of Fellows as possible in terms of life experience, leadership roles and type of organization as well as other unique characteristics.
A committee of LeadingAge Ohio members and association staff will evaluate applications using the following criteria:
- How well defined, insightful and introspective are the leadership essays?
- How well does the applicant demonstrate a personal commitment to the field of
aging services?
- How well does the applicant demonstrate a dedication to lifelong learning?
- To what extent does the applicant possess the leadership capacity needed to become
a transformational leader?
Applicants will receive confirmation that their application was received. Applications that fail to meet all guidelines or are incomplete cannot be considered for review.
