Executive Director Jim Mayer Announces Retirement from Career in Senior Living

Montgomery, Ohio – After a 35 year career in senior living, Jim Mayer, Executive Director of Twin Lakes Senior Living Community, announced his retirement effective at the end of September.

Life Enriching Communities (LEC) President & CEO Scott McQuinn said, “We have been very blessed to have benefited from Jim’s talents over the last 7 years and I would like to express my deep appreciation to him for sharing his leadership and experience with Twin Lakes and the entire LEC family.” 

Since Jim joined the Twin Lakes team in April, 2013 the campus has expanded dramatically adding 67 independent living accommodations, the Copperlight Café and the Shirley M. Davies Community Center and now serves over 400 residents. He has provided direction for the current construction project that will add nearly 12,000 square feet and bring much needed Memory Support Assisted Living services to the campus later this year along with major renovations to the Central Campus.  Under his leadership Twin Lakes has remained at 94% occupancy or higher and maintained a 5-Star rating from Medicare for skilled nursing services. Jim never shied away from an opportunity to promote Twin Lakes and represented our organization well in both the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce and the local Rotary.  “I am going to miss the relationships that I‘ve developed with residents and staff,” says Jim Mayer. “ I feel so blessed that so many people have enriched my life and hope that my service and dedication enriched theirs.”

Prior to Twin Lakes, Jim served in various capacities for Hamilton-based Colonial-Community First Solutions which included Executive Director of Berkeley Square, Executive Director of Colonial Communities and Vice President of Health Services over the course of 18 years.

Committed to improving the lives of older adults, Jim assumed leadership roles in both the national and state non-for-profit senior living industry organizations. He served two terms on the Leading Age House of Delegates and two terms on the Board of Directors for Leading Age Ohio where he was the chair of the Professional Development Committee and instrumental in the development of the Leadership Academy now used by Leading Age.
