Director of Nursing (DON/DNS)

This is a wonderful opportunity to join a faith based organization dedicated to serving their residents with the highest quality of care. This Director of Nursing (DON/DNS)  position coordinates, manages, and evaluates, and is accountable for resident care activities, nursing personnel, and clinical operations.  This Director of Nursing (DON/DNS) will be responsible for clinical needs for an 85 bed skilled nursing center, and the independent and assisted living care staff for this Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC).     

Director of Nursing (DON/DNS) Responsibilities include:
• Assures a nursing organizational structure exists that supports clinical and administrative standards and goals, and enables the facility to fulfill its mission.
• Creates systems, processes, and programs to achieve the mission, goals and strategic plan for the nursing organization
• Fosters an effective nursing management team
• Is knowledgeable of all applicable regulations governing long term care
• Assisting the management team to ensure there is adequate staff needed to meet the needs of the residents and to achieve the objectives of the facility, and implements the staffing plan accordingly
• Implements and evaluates a system for identifying the resource needs of residents.

Director of Nursing (DON/DNS) Qualifications include:
• Active state Registered Nurse (RN) license for Ohio
• At least two years of nursing management experience with at least one year of this experience in a long-term care facility
• Knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations as it pertains to skilled and long term care nursing
• History of excellent survey experience preferable
