Elder Care Certificate Training available for non-clinical staff
LeadingAge Ohio is pleased to offer training for Elder Care Certification, an industry-recognized credential in the state of Ohio. The training is available to members virtually or in-person, with Workforce Director, Randi Hamill. The Elder Care Certificate is ideal for direct care as well as supportive roles working with older adults, such as culinary services, maintenance staff, life enrichment, or administrative staff. This certificate program instructs on key markers of aging, challenges older adults experience, and develops specialized interpersonal skills for working in elder care. Specific geriatric training has shown to have positive effects on the general healthcare of older adults.
According to LeadingAge Ohio’s Employee Health and Wellness Benefit Survey conducted last month, credentials and certifications are one of the most used benefits by LeadingAge providers’ workforce. Advancement through specialized certifications and credentials is a leading attracter for retaining current staff and recruiting new talent.
The Elder Care Certificate includes an interactive 16-hour workshop on dates/time mutually agreeable to your organization and Workforce Director, Randi Hamill, to be completed in person or virtually via zoom. Upon completion, attendees will complete an assessment and written assignment to demonstrate what they learned in the course.
