Ohio Farmer Leads National Corn Growers Association

Jed Bower is NCGA’s new president

The combine rolls through another field in southwest Ohio, harvesting slightly below-average-yield corn after a season that started with too much rain and ended with too little.

Behind the wheel isn't just any farmer — it's the new president of the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA), a small operator who never imagined he'd be representing more than half a million corn farmers across the country.

"It's an honor and a little humbling for a small operator to serve at this level," said Jed Bower of Washington Court House. He raises corn and soybeans with his wife, Emily, and children on their fifth-generation family farm in south-central Ohio.
