August STAT Webinar Prepares Nursing Homes for CMS Risk-Based Surveys

Beginning Sept. 8, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will implement the Risk-Based Survey process nationwide for qualifying nursing homes. The next 2026 Survey Tips & Tactics session, scheduled for Aug. 12 at 11 a.m., will cover qualification and disqualification criteria, what surveyors review during the streamlined process, and steps providers can take to maintain eligibility and avoid common errors.

The program will combine CMS guidance with lessons reported by LeadingAge Ohio members that have experienced the Risk-Based Survey process. Nursing home leaders are encouraged to register their survey, clinical and compliance teams. Review continuing education details and register for the Aug. 12 session.
