State announces blackout period, training dates
In a meeting this week with LeadingAge Ohio, the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) shared that a blackout period is scheduled to begin on August 1, during which time Ohio providers will not be able to initiate new provider enrollments in the Provider Network Module. After the blackout period, providers will be able to begin applications in a new system. Providers have been notified of the upcoming change via a post on the MITS provider portal.
Furthermore, last week ODM sent out provider training dates for the Medicaid Next Generation program, which will include an overview of the transition to the Ohio Medicaid Enterprise System (OMES) modules, upcoming training plans and dates, and where providers can receive communications from ODM throughout the NextGen transition and implementation. These two-hour webinars are being offered by provider group. A complete webinar schedule can be found on the Resources for Providers webpage of the Next Generation website. Following the webinars, a recording will also be posted to this page. ODM asks providers only join one live event due to capacity limitations.
