Yesterday, Ohio launched the Nursing Home Quality Navigator , an online tool that will assist consumers as they navigate long-term care options in Ohio. The tool was developed by the Ohio Department of Aging in partnership with Innovate Ohio, and arose as a result of consumer input and discussions of the Nursing Home Quality and Accountability Task Force.
Governor DeWine made the official announcement during a press conference that aired on both the Ohio Channel and the Governor's Facebook page on Wednesday.
The site allows users to search for nursing homes by location or by name and provides extensive information about facilities, including CMS ratings for quality, staffing and health inspections, payment types accepted, and the average number of residents per day. Quality, resident satisfaction, and staffing scores are also shown, as well as staff turnover percentages.
The Task Force included the tool within its recommendations to empower Ohioans to quickly locate and research nursing homes for themselves or loved ones.
LeadingAge Ohio played a significant role within the Task Force’s work, dedicating over 100 hours of meetings and regional “town hall” events in 2023.
