Representatives from the Ohio Department of Health will join LeadingAge Ohio to provide best practices in obtaining compliance with Life Safety Code requirements. ODH will also be sharing examples of Emergency Preparedness compliance and lessons learned from recent disaster events in Ohio.

The Yellow Brick Road: Human Threat Assessment and Workplace Violence Prevention Model for Compliance and Success

Health and non-healthcare professionals recognize the importance of personal and workplace safety. This 3-layered presentation will provide attendees valuable cornerstones for improving their safety through enhanced knowledge and skills. Understand the benchmarks for a high-performing workplace violence prevention program and gain a full understanding of the importance of a strong human behavioral threat assessment program. Learn about safety and security in the long-term care settings, including hospice inpatient units and know what to do if there is an active shooter.  Prevention and early intervention are the keys to safety. Cancellations received by two calendar weeks prior to event date will be fully refunded. Cancellations received between 7 and 13 days prior to the event date will be refunded minus a $40 processing fee. No refunds will be issued 6 or fewer days prior to the event date.

Continuing Education

3.0 clock hours will be awarded upon successful completion.

Criteria for successful completion: Attendance at entire event and submission of completed evaluation form.

As stated in the Ohio Administrative Code 4723-14-05, education that has been approved by a board or an agency that regulates a health care profession in Ohio or another jurisdiction is an acceptable option to meet nursing continuing education requirements.
