Receiving a terminal diagnosis and adjusting to a new way of living and dying can bring about a significant amount of human suffering for those facing the end of life. Emotional and psychological responses to illness can be difficult to separate from the physical. For the hospice team, both uncovering and addressing these responses is crucial to appropriate and effective care. This session will explore prevalent mental and emotional reactions to illness and discuss interventions to provide meaningful support.
