Home Health Included in House Sub Bill
Last Thursday, the Finance Committee heard testimony from chairs of each of its subcommittees on their deliberations on HB 166, Ohio’s biennial budget bill. Subsequently, the bill was released for public inspection. Among the bill’s proposals are several focused on home health, including:
- A boost to personal care services, home care attendant and nursing waiver rates under the PASSPORT program;
- A one-year limit on managed care recoupments from home health agencies;
- A prohibition on managed care from requiring prior authorization for home health patients who have been referred by a hospital, physician or nurse practitioner;
- A prohibition on managed care from requiring prior authorization for home health services for a hospice patient.
