CMS Transmittals: ICD-10-CM, PPS Pricer

Two transmittals pertaining to nursing homes were recently released by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

• CMS Transmittal R3799CP Annual Update of the International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM) was released on June 16, 2017. The effective date is October 1, 2017.  To review the transmittal, click here. 
• CMS released Transmittal # R3796CP: Medicare Part A Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Prospective Payment System (PPS) Pricer Update FY 2018 on June 16, 2017. The effective date is October 1, 2017. Each July, the CMS publishes the SNF payment rates. For FY 2018, the SNF payment increase factor is 1.0 percent, as required by section 411(a) of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA). To review the transmittal, click here.
