NAB Converts CE Tracking to Registry
Recently, Ohio’s Board of Executives of Long-term Services and Supports (BELTSS) requested that LeadingAge Ohio share information with its members about a transition undertaken by NAB, the National Association of Long-Term Care Administrator Boards.
NAB has notified BELTSS that as of April 1, 2018, the use of its new CE Registry will become mandatory for those administrators wishing to receive CEU credit for attending a NAB-approved course, as providers will no longer be giving out certificates of attendance. Proof of attendance for CEU credit will instead be entered into the NAB CE Registry by the provider. Because of this, licensed nursing home administrators (LNHAs) will need to create an account with the NAB CE Registry and receive a unique registry ID number that they will use when registering for NAB-approved courses.
Signing up for the registry is free and should only take a few moments. To do so, visit www.nabweb.org and go to the member login section. Choose “Not a Member? Sign Up!” and complete the form. After the NAB account is activated, users may log by clicking here. Once logged in, you will see a link directing you to the “HSE Application/CE Registry”. After choosing this option, you will be directed to the “My Account” page within NABVerify. This page will give the option to begin the CE Registry or HSE Application.
For more information and step-by-step instructions, please click here. The NABVerify User Guide CE Registry for Licensees handbook will provide information on the registry as well as offer instructions on how to apply for an account.
BELTSS is currently working with NAB to create a link between the NAB CE Registry and the MyBELTSS online license renewal system, and will notify licensees when that link has been established. Until then, licensees will have to manually submit their NAB-approved CEUs to BELTSS by printing the registry information and entering it/uploading it to the BELTSS system. BELTSS apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause, and continues working hard with NAB to develop a link between the systems.
Licensees will continue to process BELTSS-approved CEUs as they have been doing, by entering the information into the system and uploading the CEU certificate.
Please download and read the NABVerify User Guide CE Registry for Licensees, as it will explain everything in detail and walk licensees through the sign-up process. Individuals with further questions should not hesitate to call or email the BELTSS office.
