Heavy Snow and Ice Will Hit From the Plains to the Mid-Atlantic
Moderate to major winter storm impacts are forecast across a dozen states
Areas from Kansas to Virginia will be hit with heavy snow and ice from Tuesday through Thursday, leading to moderate to major winter storm impacts.
As frigid air from the polar vortex meets warm, moist air from the Gulf of Mexico, a wave of precipitation will form and track from the Plains to the Mid-Atlantic from Tuesday through Thursday. Winter storm watches, warnings and advisories cover this 1,300-mile corridor, including areas affected by deadly flooding over the weekend.
