Coping with Challenging Situations in Dementia Care

Jami Myers is an Occupational Therapist and the Chief of Organization Development for Positive Approach to Care® (PAC). She earned her master's in occupational therapy from West Virginia University. Over her 13-year career, Jami has pursued her passion for supporting people living with brain change. She has worked in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living and memory care organizations, inpatient rehabilitation, acute care hospitals, and home health agencies in West Virginia, Ohio, and Nevada. In 2016, Jami first connected with Teepa Snow, which immediately sparked a new passion for changing the way support is offered to those living with brain change. Jami inspired this change at her home facility and began traveling throughout the country, educating over 250 of her company’s clinicians, administrators, and staff members about PAC Skills. During this time, Jami completed her PAC Coach Certification to facilitate ongoing skill development within her work community. In 2022, she began her journey as a PAC Mentor and has never looked back. Jami continues to advocate on a local, state, and national level for policy change for those living with brain change. Her full-time role with PAC allows her to follow her passion of supporting organizations willing to demonstrate the time, effort, willingness, and dedication to change the culture of care for the better.
