United Church Homes Announces New Chief Growth Officer

MARION, Ohio (December 12, 2019) – United Church Homes announced that Teresa “Terry” Spitznagel, BSSW, LSW, MHA, will join the organization Feb. 10 as chief growth officer, a newly created position that replaces the chief operating officer role at UCH. Spitznagel will report to Rev. Dr. Kenneth Daniel, president and CEO, and have responsibility for all UCH senior living and affordable housing operations. In addition, she will lead efforts to grow existing and new lines of business for the nonprofit senior living provider.

Spitznagel has over 25 years of experience in healthcare operation, including senior living, hospital and post-acute care, hospice, affordable housing and home and community-based services.  Since 2000, she has worked for National Church Residences in roles of increasing responsibility.

As the senior vice president of senior living, Spitznagel was responsible for overseeing operations of that organization’s skilled nursing and assisted living communities, HUD Affordable Assisted Living (ACLP) communities and independent living communities. She recently contributed to the development of a senior living middle market community program, oversaw managed care contracts and identified new business opportunities with accountable care organizations and healthcare systems.

Previously, Spitznagel was senior vice president of home and community services, and served as vice president of home and community services and, separately, social support services. Before joining National Church Residences, she held operations roles at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Ohio, and Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio.

Spitznagel, who has worked with United Church Homes in her current role and through several industry collaborations with LeadingAge Ohio, said she is thrilled to join UCH.
