Executive Director
LifeSpire of Virginia is a high quality, Fitch rated senior living organization with a single mission of empowering individuals through choices in purposeful living. Comprised of a family of non-profit Life Plan Communities (The Culpeper, The Chesapeake, The Glebe and Lakewood), Lakewood at Home and VBH Foundation, LifeSpire is seeking an Executive Director for its Lakewood campus. Located on 128 beautiful acres in Richmond’s West End, Lakewood is a premier LPC offering independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation, blending leading-edge innovation seamlessly with its friendly culture of service excellence. In the midst of a $70 million repositioning project to enhance the offerings on the campus, Lakewood will also be adding 19 new cottages with smart home technology in the summer of 2021.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer of LifeSpire, the Executive Director of Lakewood provides oversight of campus operations and programs and plays an integral role in ongoing strategic planning initiatives. A self-starter who can lead people to excellence through effective change management strategies, the Executive Director is a collaborator who creates a shared understanding within the team that the quality of decisions made directly affects the strategic objectives of Lakewood along with its financial soundness, staff relations, and public relations image.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of three years of successful leadership experience as an Administrator or Assistant Administrator of a Life Plan Community with in-depth understanding of the health care and retirement fields and the ability to effectively direct Lakewood operations. (S)he will have advanced interpersonal skills, public speaking strengths, and advanced analytical skills. A current and valid Administrator’s license with the State of Virginia is preferred and a Bachelor’s degree is required.
