About the Opportunity:
The Director of Nursing oversees all aspects of patient care and medical services for the residents of the Nursing Home and Assisted Living, while ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulatory agencies.

Position Summary:

  • Demonstrates Appropriate Knowledge and Skills Necessary to Plan, Coordinate, Organize, and Supervise the Department of Nursing Services.
  •  Interacts with co-workers, physicians, residents and all other customers in a manner which encourages harmonious working relationships, enhances the image and reputation of the facility and promotes positive customer relations.
  • Supports the facility’s mission statement by dependability in attendance, punctuality, maintaining confidentiality, the timely completion of assignments, and attention to principles of professional ethics and quality service.
  • Has a commitment to professional and personal growth through development of skills and knowledge, as well as improvement in the facility’s performance.
  • Ensures the rights, dignity and confidentiality of all residents is maintained.
  • Ensures care and documentation is appropriate, accurate and accepted within standards of care.
  • Participates in Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) Activities I.e. meetings, action planning, data collecting, program evaluation, PI Projects, and peer review.
  • Demonstrates Knowledge and Skills to Interpret and Communicate State and Federal Regulations
  • Demonstrates adequate knowledge and skills to function as a leader and/or Director
  • Supervises/manages/directs the selection, development, appraisal and work performance of the nursing staff.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

Qualification Summary:

  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college and six months to one year related experience.
  • RN licensure by state of Tennessee
  • The ideal candidate will 3-5 years’ experience in long term care as a DON or experienced ADON.
  • Previous management/staffing experience required. PS & MDS experience a plus.
  • Must have strong leadership and communication skills.
