Don’t Miss the Boat: Ohio’s QIP - Boost Quality to Boost Revenue
Quality Incentives Program (QIP) Informational Kickoff

This Webinar Could Put $260,000
Back Into Your Bottom Line

Nursing facilities participating in Ohio’s Medicaid program saw significant gains and losses this July 1 as the Department of Medicaid re-calculated the quality incentive payment, which is based on just four long-stay quality measures. One-quarter of facilities statewide were excluded from the QIP, which translated to hundreds of thousands in losses for some organizations. For example, a 100-bed nursing home operating at the state average of 60% Medicaid occupancy whose QIP score fell into the bottom quartile would have lost over $260,000 in Medicaid payments over the year.

While July 1, 2021 rates have already been set, LeadingAge Ohio is working to make sure members have the knowledge and skills they need to boost their scores-- and next year’s revenue.  This October, LeadingAge Ohio will launch a six-month intensive that will bring together finance, clinical and operations experts from across the state to boost QIP scores.

Don’t miss the September 14 webinar, which will provide an explanation of the quality incentive payment, where it came from, how it is calculated, and what you can do this month to increase your QIP payment. To register for the September 14 call, click here. Questions may be directed to Susan Wallace, Chief Policy Officer at swallace@leadingageohio.org.
