STAT:  Survey Tips and Tactics

Discover how nursing homes are being cited with the re-start of annual surveys. The Long-Term Care Survey Process and regulatory language will be reviewed. Each month participants will delve into a specific survey topic. Common citation examples will be given with interactive discussion from members sharing their experiences with the re-start. Obtain useful tips, tactics and resources for the monthly highlighted topic.

Each webinar is a separate virtual event. Registration is required for each.

 

September 8, 2021 Quality of Life
This session will review quality-of-life citations from annual surveys and focused infection control surveys and how noncompliance results in citations. Regulatory language and standards of practice in preventing decline in activities of daily living and maintaining quality of life will be reviewed. Assessment, interventions, and monitoring standards will be discussed. Resources and RoP Federal Register references will be shared.

October 13, 2021 Sufficient Staffing
This session will review sufficient staffing citations from annual surveys and focused infection control surveys and how noncompliance results in citations. Regulatory language and standards of practice in staffing will be reviewed. Staffing competency standards will be discussed. Resources and RoP Federal Register references will be shared.

November 10, 2021 Unnecessary Medications
This session will review unnecessary medications from annual surveys and focused infection control surveys and how noncompliance results in citations. Regulatory language and standards of practice related to medication use will be reviewed. Pharmacy services and drug regimen review standards will be discussed. Resources and RoP Federal Register references will be shared.

December 8, 2021 Transfers and Discharges
This session will review transfer and discharge citations from annual surveys and focused infection control surveys and how noncompliance results in citations. Regulatory language and standards of practice in transfer and discharge notification and documentation will be reviewed. Resources and RoP Federal Register references will be shared.

Cancellations received between 7 and 13 days prior to the event date will be refunded minus a $10 processing fee. No refunds will be issued 6 or fewer days prior to the event date.

Criteria for successful completion: Attendance at entire event and submission of completed evaluation form.
