Yesterday October 12, the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) notified LeadingAge Ohio that the MDS Exception Reviews would begin on Monday October 16. LeadingAge Ohio emphatically expressed its concerns that the vendor selected by ODM, Myers and Stauffer LC, would be auditing providers on the Myers and Stauffer’s Supportive Documentation Requirements User Guide and Exception Review Operations Manual (SDR) and not the RAI manual that is the standard requirement.
ODM notified LeadingAge Ohio and other stakeholders this afternoon that ODM would be postponing the Exception Reviews slated to begin Monday based on the feedback received. LeadingAge Ohio reiterated the importance of ODM using the RAI manual as the standard by which providers are evaluated on the exception reviews.
LeadingAge Ohio will update members as soon as a new date is set as well as additional information is received.
The next Ohio Department of Medicaid MDS Exception Review call is scheduled for next Tuesday. LeadingAge Ohio will notify members if this call is rescheduled.
