The Nominating Committee of the LeadingAge Ohio Board of Directors announces the Call for Nominations for Board Service for those terms beginning in November 2025.
The Nominating Committee prepares the annual slate of nominees for the LeadingAge Ohio Board of Directors, as well as identifying rising leaders within member organizations to serve on LeadingAge Ohio committees. The LeadingAge Ohio membership will vote on the Board slate at its annual meeting, during the General Session of its Annual Conference and Trade Show in August.
Board Service
The LeadingAge Ohio Board of Directors sets the strategic direction for the association, convenes leaders throughout the state to influence policy and promotes a variety of programs and services for aging services providers.
The LeadingAge Ohio Board of Directors meets quarterly in February, May, August and November of each year in-person in Columbus. At times, virtual meetings are held in between regular Board meetings to address emergent issues. Board members must be senior leadership staff at member organizations.
LeadingAge Ohio seeks to represent the diversity of the LeadingAge Ohio membership as well as the breadth of the continuum served by members. LeadingAge Ohio tracks board diversity based on the sponsoring organization’s geographic region, service lines, size (single site vs. multisite), religious affiliation of the organization and personal characteristics of the individual, including unique experience / expertise, career tenure (early / mid / late career), sex and race. The Nominating Committee has identified the following expertise areas that would complement the current board makeup: philanthropy, knowledge of managed care / value-based care, and expertise in workforce development.
Committee Service
LeadingAge Ohio welcomes members into committee service at any point in their careers, whether building their network or giving back to the sector. Committee service is a stepstone for career growth. It prepares your staff for other leadership roles by providing the opportunity to engage in ‘big picture’ thinking, learn from peers, and address systemic challenges through advocacy and solution-development.
Committees vary in meeting cadence, ranging from quarterly to semi-annually. Attendance at two-thirds of meetings is required to remain in good standing.
While LeadingAge Ohio is open to new membership across its committee structure, we have particular needs in the following areas:
- Professional Development Committee
- Affordable Housing Subcommittee
- Home, Hospice & Palliative Care Committee (Home Care in particular)
- NF/ AL Reimbursement Subcommittee
