CMS Proposes to Lift Unnecessary Regulations and Ease Burden on Providers

On September 17, 2018, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released “proposed” new rules to remove unnecessary Medicare compliance requirements for healthcare facilities. The providers prominently impacted from this new rule are Hospice and Home Health care. The new proposed rules are expected to save providers an estimated $1.12 billion annually and reduce the amount of time and resources providers spend on CMS-mandated compliance activities and focus on quality of care.
