Executive Director

Otterbein Senior Life is a health and human service ministry, serving approximately 2,000 people throughout western Ohio. Otterbein has an opening for a fulltime Executive Director. The Otterbein Pemberville campus is located in Pemberville, OH, a rural setting 30 miles south of Toledo Ohio.

Otterbein Pemberville is a CMS 5 star community and is home to about 200 people who live independently, in assisted living and skilled nursing. 

SUMMARY

The Executive Director leads the delivery of high quality services in a person centered environment. Responsibilities include managing the day-to day operations of the community, short term and long term planning activities and serving on the Otterbein Operations Team. A key responsibility is overseeing the sales and marketing of independent living housing and referral marketing for assisted living and post-acute and skilled nursing. The ED has frequent interaction with, and leadership responsibility, with the local board of directors and community relations 

Responsibilities

  • Develops, presents and administers the community’s annual business plan and annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Develops, monitors, and reports such statistical information and quality indicators used to evaluate operations and which may be required by the corporation and other agencies.
  • Develops and maintains systems for communicating with residents and staff on important issues including the resolution of concerns and complaints.
  • Assures operations are in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations and Otterbein policies and procedures.
  • Selects, supervises, coaches, develops and retains a high caliber of staff.
  • Develops and nurtures a strong working relationship with residents, family members, partners, volunteers, and the campus local board of directors
  • Participates in corporate teams to share best practices and work assignments related to corporate operations.
  • Represent Otterbein in community.

Qualifications

  • A mission-driven passion for serving older adults
  • Make prompt and accurate judgments with regard to care and emergencies.
  • Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with persons who are ill, disabled, elderly, and/or emotionally upset.
  • Excellent literacy, writing, documentations, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Bachelor’s; preferred in Health/Long-Term Administration, Business, Gerontology, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Current Ohio LNHA license.
