Charitable Gift Planning Director 

Summary

Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices seeks a fulltime Charitable Gift Planner for its Cridersville and St. Marys, Ohio communities.  This position reports to the VP of Charitable Gift Planning. Oversees the planning, management, and implementation of all fundraising activities for both Otterbein location. 

Responsibilities

  • Identify and contact donors to share mission of Otterbein and encourage financial support
  • Cultivate and maintain enduring relationships with potential funding sources such as individuals, corporations, charitable foundations, civic organizations
  • Generate ideas for appeals and integrates them into Otterbein’s overall Charitable Giving plans
  • Oversee donor recognition events and leads seminars on planned giving
  • Oversee and lead presentations to individuals, corporations, and foundations
  • Write annual case statements for community
  • Develop and Lead fundraising committees

Skills

  • Full understanding of fundraising fundamentals
  • Ability to manage/lead a team of direct reports or volunteers
  • Proficient in Raisers Edge or other fundraising software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Self-starter and able to work independently

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of fundraising experience with proven success
  • 3 to 5 years of Hands on experience with Event Planning and Management
  • Experience developing and leading major Capital Campaigns
  • Experience with grant writing
  • 3 to 5 years of experience of being involved in One on One Solicitation, including cold calling
  • Experience with donor pipeline creation
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) a plus
