Position Summary
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the nursing program within the Patriot Ridge Community in accordance with professional practice standards, community policies and procedures, quality improvement guidelines, local, state and federal guidelines. Candidate may also assume responsibilities of the Administrator in their absence.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to perform all duties expected of a Registered Nurse in a long term care setting
- Utilizes established standards/criteria to oversee resident care services
- Maintains an “on call” status for emergencies on a rotating basis with other supervisory nursing personnel
- Conducts activities in accordance with Federal, State, Local, and United Church Homes’ standards, laws, and regulations
- Oversees the professional nursing staff in all areas of development, coordination and implementation
- Sets individual and departmental objectives that are aligned with the organization’s overall strategic objectives
- Maintains accuracy and confidentiality of necessary information
- Performs nursing-related administrative duties as necessary
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Must have at least (4) years’ experience in long-term health care with two (2) years of prior nurse management experience
- Active RN license and CPR certified
- Must participate in continuing education
- Must meet pre-employment standards including but not limited to drug screen, physical, background check, and references.
